    New Graduate Program

We are proud of our new graduate training program at Active Physiotherapy which has been developed and refined over the last 10 years. At Active we support you every step of the way as you make the transition from student to independent practitioner.

If you are admitted to our New Graduate Program, you will work alongside a team of physiotherapists who are passionate about providing high quality physiotherapy services to the Mackay community. You will have a comprehensive orientation to the work environment with opportunities to shadow and learn from other physiotherapists “on the job”. Time will be taken to gradually build you case load as you feel confident and more comfortable in your role.

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills by choosing to train in any or all of the following programs: Neuro, MSK, Women’s & Men’s Health.

    The new graduate program involves

    • Weekly mentoring sessions
    • Regular in-service training sessions
    • Regular time to view online webinars which relate to your training program
    • Monthly zoom session with Cowboys Physiotherapist & JCU Lecturer Johnathon Crawley
    • Opportunities for joint consultations with Senior therapists for difficult cases

We use regular mentoring sessions for new graduate Physiotherapists to discuss cases and questions with friendly, hardworking experienced Physiotherapists with a strong knowledge base across all areas of physiotherapy and sound clinical reasoning skills.

  • "Active Physiotherapy is a fantastic place to work. There is a very supportive team culture and there is great diversity in interests that each team member has so there is always someone to bounce ideas off. As a new grad I also believe Active is a great place to work with their well-structured mentoring program. I am grateful to for all the opportunities I have been given at Active to develop as a physiotherapist and will miss working with high level sporting programs like QBL, QRL and Gold Coast Suns junior development." - Matt Haswell, Physiotherapist
